Bringing Success to Digital Transformation
This week, Athensys were proud to co-host an event alongside techUK in London with the theme of bringing success to digital transformation. The event explored the complexity of the problem faced by large organisations of overspend with poor returns on large tech-enabled projects.
Hosted by Simona from techUK, we were delighted to welcome four speakers; our own Client Relations Director Alice Harrison, Rajiv Kumar, David Wilde and a keynote from DWP CDIO Simon McKinnon.
After an introduction from Alice covering what we at Athensys believe are the principles for success in digital transformation, we welcomed Rajiv to take the stand as our first speaker. Rajiv has over 25 years experience of delivering IT projects across Policing, Public Sector and Banking. He has specialised in applying emerging technologies to bring innovation to digital transformation, resulting in sustainable solutions and positive outcomes. He took us on a journey through digital transformation across industries, with a set of core themes.
This was followed by a Public Service Transformation – Are we Brave Enough with Technology and Innovation? question from David Wilde. David has spent over 30 years in Central and Local government leadership roles, including responsibility for large scale operational strategy, digital and whole service transformation.
Simon McKinnon, the CDIO of the Department for Work and Pensions shared his insights on the digital transformation challenges in large and complex organisations, providing examples for work that has been underway in the Department for Work and Pensions over the last couple of years.
Following the addresses, the speakers formed a panel, joined by Athensys co-founder Sophie Newbould providing a legal perspective. The floor was opened to questions under Chatham House Rules and there was a lively and engaged discussion between the panel and the audience that continued over sandwiches, coffee and Welsh cakes.
We look forward to sharing the video of the speakers with you – coming soon!
